complete seven-day forecast coming up in a few minutes. >> a 4-year-old from north baltimore is recovering after police say he was shot by his father during a domestic dispute. police are charging erik ford sr. with attempted murder. he's accused of shooting not only his young son but his mother as well. you saw at first last night. investigators tell us he had been involved in an argument with his girlfriend when things turned violent and he pulled out a gun. what we don't -- but they don't understand is why the first shot was fired at the sun. >> the thought that a child was subjected to this alleged abuse and the fact that -- it is a true tragedy and thankfully we can close the case. >> the boy's mother was shot multiple times.

howard county police are hoping to stop a door besting burger -- or busting burglar. he breaks down doors when residents are not home and cleans them out. these break-ins are happening all over the county. >> howard county police are reminding folks who lived throughout the county to be extra vigilant concerning this case. in the past three days, close to a dozen break-ins throughout the county. investigators hope someone can lead them to a good description of what they believe is a lone suspect. >> i grew up here and moved back. 40 years i have been here and nothing like this has happened. >> this burglary victims as what happened to him and the number of his neighbors just doesn't make sense. he says monday, he returned home to find the back door of his home kick in and a number of valuables stolen, including his

ticket to the thursday night raven's game. >> they got some koreans and jewelry and things like that. they got raven's tickets also. >> the break in is one of a dozen that occurred since monday and popped up in areas like ella cut city, eldridge, and what a fine. >> he is knocking on doors to see if residents are home. when he finds a resident at home, he asks for someone who doesn't live there and quickly leaves. >> police believe all of the break-ins are related and most likely being committed by the same person. they also say they almost got a huge break in the case after the suspect was spotted by 13-year- old boy. >> he was at home when he heard someone knocking loudly on the front door. he didn't answer and soon after, the door was kicked in. when a suspect realize someone was in the house, he ran away quickly.

>> anyone throughout the county sees anything suspicious, that would include a person they don't recognize randomly knocking on doors, to call 911 that immediately. >> a dramatic scene unfold last night as state police from pennsylvania and maryland team that the county officers in the multistate pursuit of two teenagers. it all started in pennsylvania just south of harrisburg. that is re 17-year-old stole his father's truck with a runaway in the passenger seat. the pursuit crossed the state border and maryland police were called upon to help. troopers tried to use stop sticks but to no avail.

>> an investigation is underway into what sparked mass of flames and ocean city condo last night. to increase more than six hours to get everything under control. the bradley on the bay condos -- of flames were shooting at 50 feet into the air and the area was covered in thick black smoke. they did not have to perform any rescue's but the red cross is helping six families who lived there. the theater that drew a rowdy and violent crowd over the weekend will learn next month whether it will lose its liquor license. the baltimore county liquor board scheduled a hearing for october 29 for the theater following last weekend's madness. seven people were charged in incidents related to the event and police believe the shooting hours later may have been connected. the theater owner was blamed for

using an outside promoter and things got out of control. a nickel examiners are conducting an autopsy on a man found -- medical examiners are conducting an autopsy on and found last night by someone walking near the wer near boston street and noted a -- noticed a body floating. the man has not been identified but we are told his 63 years old. no word on how long the body had been there. the investigation is ongoing. >> global health officials are alerting doctors to be on the lookout for new cases of a virus related to the sars infection of 2003. remember that? at the forefront of the fight is a microbiologist from canada. it appears there is no sign of that disease is behaving like the syndrome that killed hundreds of people worldwide, but officials have announced the new virus has been found in a

critical -- critically ill man being treated in london and a saudi arabian man who died. the two may have been infected directly by animals because there is no indication of human to human spread. last year's flu shot will not protect you this year. this year's vaccine contains protection against two different strains circling the globe. just because of flu was mild last winter doesn't mean it won't bounce back this winter and there's plenty of vaccine to go around. >> a recent cdc study for the 2010-2011 season estimated flu vaccine that year prevented almost 5 million influence cases, 2 million medical visits and an estimated 40,000 hospitalizations. >> the flu shot is available as is a intradermal mechanism that

on the eastern coast and we may see a break tomorrow. expect some sunshine tomorrow with watching out for these showers near the great lakes. it will be rotating slowly in our direction and by sunday evening, the showers may pop up a gain. not completely done that with this unsettled pattern until the weekend. tomorrow, mostly cloudy with showers likely, high temperatures at 75. on the bay, wind will be out of the west with waves of about 1 foot. western maryland will see scattered showers tonight. on friday, the rain chances drop to 30%. eastern shore, 79 tomorrow with showers tapering off. they will catch a shower tomorrow and on saturday as well. temperatures trending downward

well over 1 inch below normal and less than 24.5 inches for the year. beckett's is close to 7 inches below normal total precipitation for the year so far. temperatures at the airport check in at 81 degrees. the record low for the day was 39, set in 1957. another mile and muggy night. cover and light southeast wind will keep it mild, in the '60s overnight with scattered showers pushing through under mostly cloudy skies. this area of low pressure developing ahead of this low will track along the front and push it further south. that should change the pattern as we get into the weekend. hit and missed scattered showers on the eastern shore and saturday, we get some sunshine early in the day but an
